It basically lets you use dynamic comment mode, in the stock scoop. I  
think some other sites have additional dynamic elements, and this  
would activate those as well.

If you've never tried dynamic comment mode, I recommend playing with  
it a bit. Turn this user preference on, then go to your comment  
preferences and choose one of the two dynamic modes for your comment  
display preferences.

Basically, it allows you to expand and collapse nested comment  
threads without reloading the entire page. It's very nifty. (However,  
I don't recommend setting it as the default comment display mode; not  
all browsers can do the nifty javascript stuff that it uses.)
