Overall, there may be a few performance benefits to be ganed here and the nickname issue should definately be corrected although in reviewing over 50 Scoop databases I haven't found a single instance of the data curruption you saw in your database. You're absolutely correct though that this discussion should be moved over to the dev list scoop-dev at lists.juro5hin.org where my further comments have been posted.
